Tidewater Plumbing Co. recently completed a new water service and backflow assembly installation for a property in Dudley, NC. This Wayne County project included trenching approximately 200 feet, installing new underground water service piping from the new city water meter connections to the existing building water service, and tying the new lines into the existing PVC water main serving the building. Our team also installed two backflow prevention assemblies, two expansion tanks, and two insulated hot box enclosures to support and protect the new closed water systems.
Installing New Water Service Piping
This project required more than a small plumbing repair. The property needed new underground water service piping installed from the new city water meter connections back to the existing building water service.
To complete the work, Tidewater Plumbing Co. trenched approximately 200 feet across the property to create the path for the new water service lines. Once the trenching was complete, our team installed the new underground piping, connected the new service lines to the meter connections, and tied the new water service into the existing PVC water main serving the building.
Large water service projects like this require careful layout, proper connections, and a clean installation process so the system can be connected, tested, backfilled, and returned to service.

The final result was a completed new water service installation with two backflow prevention assemblies, two expansion tanks, and two insulated hot box enclosures installed and ready for service.
After the installation was complete, the new water service piping and backflow assemblies were pressure tested, all connections were inspected for leaks, and water service was restored. The trenches were backfilled, job-related debris was cleaned up, and the work area was left in good condition.
