Tidewater Plumbing Co. recently helped a customer in Wilson, NC who found us on Google and called because her garbage disposal was no longer working. In many cases, when a disposal makes noise but does not turn or move properly, the unit may be jammed, damaged, or ready for replacement. After looking at the issue, Andrew swapped out the old disposal for a new Moen unit and got the kitchen sink back up and running.
Garbage Disposal Not Working
A garbage disposal is one of those kitchen fixtures that homeowners do not always think about until it stops working.
For this customer, the disposal was not operating the way it should. When a disposal hums, makes sound, or tries to run without actually spinning, it can point to an issue with the internal mechanism or a unit that has reached the end of its service life.
Rather than continuing to fight with the old disposal, the customer called Tidewater Plumbing Co. to take a look and get the issue resolved.
Plumbing Work Completed
As part of this kitchen plumbing service call, Tidewater Plumbing Co. completed a like-for-like garbage disposal replacement.
Our team completed the following work:
- Removed the existing garbage disposal
- Installed a new Moen garbage disposal
- Connected the new unit to the existing sink and drain setup
- Checked the disposal for proper operation
- Confirmed the kitchen sink was back up and running
- Cleaned up the work area after completion
This was a straightforward replacement, but it made an immediate difference for the customer. A properly working disposal helps keep the kitchen sink functional and makes everyday cleanup easier.
Final Result
The final result was a new Moen garbage disposal installed in place of the failed unit. The customer’s kitchen sink was restored, the disposal was operating properly, and the home was back to normal.
Not every plumbing job has to be a major renovation or emergency repair. Sometimes it is a simple fixture replacement that solves the problem and makes the kitchen easier to use again.
